In CATIA V5, there are wide varieties of Configurations licenses (main modules) and Add-On / Shareable licenses (option modules).
[Configurations licenses (main modules)]
Licenses (example):
- MD1: MECHANICAL DESIGN 1
- MD2: MECHANICAL DESIGN 2
- HD2: HYBRID DESIGN 2
- YM2: STYLED MECHANICAL DESIGN 2
- SA2: STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS 2, etc..
Features:
- Fundamental licenses required to start a CATIA V5 session.
- Different Configurations with different features (i.e. DV1, CAT, MD1, MD2, HD2)
- You can add licenses of option modules on Configurations as necessary.
Case (example):
- You currently use 3 set of CATIA V5 (MD1, MD2, and HD2)
[Add-On licenses – Option modules]
Licenses (example):
- ST1: STEP CORE INTERFACE 1
- LO1: 2D LAYOUT for 3D DESIGN 1
- GPS: GENERATIVE PART STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS 2
- GAS: GENERATIVE ASSEMBLY STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS 2
- FSS: FREESTYLE SHAPER 2,
- MCE: Mechanical Product Creation, etc…
Features:
- Must be attached to one of your existing Configurations.
Case (example):
- You currently use 3 set of CATIA V5 (MD1+ST1, MD2, and HD2).
- ST1 works with existing MD1.
- ST1 doesn’t work with other existing configuration (MD2 nor HD2). ST1 is not shareable.
[Shareable licenses – Option modules]
Licenses (example):
- ST1: STEP CORE INTERFACE 1
- LO1: 2D LAYOUT for 3D DESIGN 1
- GPS: GENERATIVE PART STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS 2
- GAS: GENERATIVE ASSEMBLY STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS 2
- FSS: FREESTYLE SHAPER 2, etc…
Features:
- Can be added temporarily to your existing Configurations.
- Can temporarily grab/release shareable license whenever you need/don’t need it.
- There are some optional modules which are available only in “Add-On” but not “Shareable”. (i.e. MCE)
Case (example):
- You currently use 3 set of CATIA V5 (MD1, MD2, and HD2).
- ST1 can be shared (grab/release) among existing MD1, MD2 and HD2.
