Today, I will share some FAQs about the migration with you.
- Are the prices of migration the same worldwide?
- Does Dassault Systèmes provide migration paths for HD2 other than [HD2 => PCS + MES]?
- Does Dassault Systèmes provide migration paths for MD1 or MD2?
- Can you migrate only one of your CATIA V5 licenses to V6? Or Should you migrate it all at once?
- Do you need to prepare server for the migration?
1. Are the prices of migration (migration fee + ALC) the same worldwide?
⇒ No. Available migration paths or the prices vary by country or region.
*Migration prices vary depending on the migration paths (example: HD2=>MES, HD2=>M3S etc..)
*Migration prices are for the licenses, and do NOT include any services such as installation, implementation, training or technical support.
2. Does Dassault Systèmes provide HD2 migration paths other than [HD2 => PCS + MES]?
⇒ Yes. (can migrate to similar/higher features)
Example migration paths;
HD2 => PCS + MES / MES-OC – Mechanical & Shape Designer (On-Premise / On-Cloud)
HD2 => PCS + M3S / M3S-OC – Mechanical & Shape Excellence Designer (On-Premise / On-Cloud)

3. Does Dassault Systèmes provide MD1 or MD2 migration paths?
⇒ Yes. (can migrate to similar/higher features)
Example migration paths;
MD1 => PCS + SMW – SheetMetal Designer (On-Premise / On-Cloud)
MD2 => PCS + MES / MES-OC – Mechanical & Shape Designer (On-Premise / On-Cloud)
MD2 => PCS + M3S / M3S-OC – Mechanical & Shape Excellence Designer (On-Premise / On-Cloud)

4. Can you migrate only one of your CATIA V5 licenses to V6? Or Should you migrate it all at once?
⇒ You can migrate only one of your CATIA V5 licenses to V6. (No need to migrate it all at once.)
* 3DEXPERIENCE server must be prepared for 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA (V6) even when you consider the migration with a smaller quantity.
* You don’t need to prepare 3DEXPERIENCE server in case you go for 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA (V6) On-Cloud.
5. Do you need to prepare server for the migration?
⇒Yes. You need to prepare 3DEXPERIENCE server for 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA (V6) On-Premise.
You can utilize an existing hardware for 3DEXPERIENCE (V6) such as a License server (DSLS server) for V5, a Workstation for CATIA V5.(Depending on a spec and condition)
